New Header Sunday

I am definitely changing the format to new Header Sunday!

My previous very brief post was my first video attempt.  Figuring out how to do video was much more difficult than it had to be.  To explain that I must make a confession.

One of my favorite features of the 5d mark ii is the info screen. It made setting changes so easy I did not need to carry the manuel with me. So I put it away somewhere. Just where… I do not know.  So I had to learn how to use the video without any written instructions. After what seemed like days of online searching (hours at least).  I found how to make videos. More hours to figure out view them, then how to upload to You-tube and Facebook and this blog.   I am quite certain a few minutes reading my manuel would have saved me hours of on line research and trial and error.

The next giant learning leap (too big to be a curve),  was that making the movie on the largest image created 8 min long vids that are 1.9 gigs.

News flash for those like me who have never uploaded to You-tube before: 1.9 gigs of upload takes 11 hours on cable.

I can see there is much to learn in this new moving image format.  I will post the You-tube link to that giant video if it ever finishes uploading.

my first video  Yes it is lame.  And it did take me way too long to figure out how to do this.

New Header Friday

Back on track. Here in Western Massachusetts, it is finally raining. After the rainiest July and June on record and we greatful to see rain. It has been HOT. This Friday’s Header was taken during one of those brief rainless periods in July.  A blog called One Cool Site  with blogging tips has a tutorial on how to change your header.

New Header Sunday

Perhaps I should be doing new header Sundays. I don’t seem to find the time on Fridays. The new header is Boston Sky line from my March trip to Boston For Photoshop World.

There are many benefits to organizing competitions. Well there maybe a few benefits. But in the Case of  The Great New England Digital Shootout, it is not having to pick the winners.  Since the particiapants in the competition are the jurors, they have that responsibility.  In this competition it is going to be quite difficult. The caliber of work is outstanding.

New Banner Friday

OOOps… the new banner is one week late!

Being busy means that blogs go un-updated.  So here is new Header Friday on Sunday.

We had a great time particpating in the Second Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk here in Palmer, MA.  I posted a few more photos of the event on page 2 of the Worldwide Photowalk – Palmer.  More Palmer images can be seen on Flickr Palmer page.  To see the world wide images from over 2800 photographers see the Flickr page for skphotos.
